He is made of keramin, a robust plaster/resin compound. Cast from the same mould as his bronze equivalent, he has a light ochre wash, applied by hand, to give him added depth and life.
Cast in Greece in the workshop of the Semitekolo family (where most of the bronze collection is cast) with whom It's All Greek is proud to have been working since 1999.
The original in Pentelic marble, now in the Akropolis Museum in Athens, was created by the sculptor Leochares.
It was found in 1886 near the Erechtheion on the Akropolis, and it depicts Alexander at a young age, as he would have been during his only visit to Athens, soon after the Battle of Chaironeia in 338 BC
