The lyre is one of the most iconic instruments associated with ancient Greek culture. According to Greek mythology, the young god Hermes stole a herd of sacred cows from his cousin, the god Apollo. From the entrails of one of the cows he made strings, and from the shell of a tortoise, he created the lyre. Apollo heard the lovely sound of the instrument and his anger at the theft was assuaged. Due to the tragic, sudden death in early 2025 of Ioannis Vaphiadis, who made all this beautiful jewellery, the family's jewellery production has ceased.
This is all the remaining stock that I have. Ioannis was only in his late 50s, was such a lovely man and a dear friend.
