white-ground lekythos: woman and slavegirl

A stately, well-dressed woman stands to the left, with long neatly arranged locks hanging down over her shoulder and back. A red diadem circles her head and she holds a sash in two hands with her gaze directed at a young female slave holding a chest.

The original, dating to ca 440BC, is attributed to the Nikon Painter and is in the museum in Brussels.

The muted colours are consistent with the original vase in its current state.
