Minoan conical rhyton with shells and marine life

This single-handled conical rhyton (pouring vessel) is decorated with shells and sea creatures, including the murex (rock snail), reflecting the maritime nature of the Minoan civilisation. Typical also is the 'horror vacui' (a need to fill every available space with some ornamentation).
