Corinthian pyxis

The most unusual feature of this pyxis is the three female figureheads at the rim, reminiscent of the prow of a ship.

It is decorated with two friezes of geese, lions and mythical griffins and sirens.

It is similar to an original in the British Museum, dating to ca 600-575BC.
